Dear Ones,
I can never thank you all enough for your prayers for my family! I wanted to pass on to you some prayer needs they shared with me in an email today.
"Pray for Peter. We had to take him to the hospital yesterday with a high fever, fatigue, bad hacking cough, and breathing problems. He was tested for Malaria and Typhoid, given medicine and sent back to the guesthouse. Last night his fever got worse and his breathing became very labored and rapid. He was sweating and very clammy. When he woke up this morning he wanted to go lie down again. We arranged to take him to another doctor that the U.S. Embassy recommended to Ernest (the director of Bread of Life Ministries). He is there now with Mom and Fidele. So pray for the little guy. Its not much fun being sick like this."
Praise the Lord that Peter is doing much better right now! It turns out that he has bronchitus and the other doctor my parents took him to was able to give him some medicine that's been helping him get better.
Please also pray that God continues to strengthen my family as they adjust to a new culture, new food, and a completely new way of life. I can only imagine how discouraging it can be at times when faced with all these things at once and then adding Peter's illness ontop of it all. But God's God's grace and faithfulness are sooo beautiful in our weakness! And I know that God is with my family, leading them and sustaining them...and I know the Lord is using all of your prayers to help them and encourage them.
Also keep my families pending visas in your prayers: "We are still trying to get all our paper work done. Resident visa applications are in the works and we should hear back by Friday what our status is even if only given a two year temporary visa. Sometimes they give ten year temp visas so pray for that. Also I am to meet with the customs director today asking for some sort of break on the custom fees and taxes. If we don't get the break I am looking at paying about $10,000 to $15,000 to get our things out of the port in Douala. Please pray about this as this money could be much better spent at the orphanage. The corruption in this country is rampant and unbelievable.
Please pray that my dad has patience as he works with the governement officials this week, and tries to get their visas taken care of.
But most of all pray that God's name will be glorified as my family serve Him in Cameroon...That God's fame and glory will be spread throughout Cameroon as His glorious Gospel is shared with the people.
Walking in Jesus' steps is not easy, going outside the camp is hard, but God's beauty far exceeds all of these struggles and cannot even compare....So please join my family walking in Jesus' steps by persistantly praying for them and praying for God's glory to go forth not only in Cameroon but all over the world...please join my family in going outside the camp by investing your time in praying. And thank you all for praying!!! Keep up the good work and keep pressing on to glory!!! May God bless you so much!
Held by Grace,
Sara
