Dear Prayer Warriors,
My Dad called me this morning around 3:45 AM, and told me that my Mom was taking Peter (my five year old brother) to the Hospital in Bamenda, suspecting he had malaria. The doctors there confirmed that Peter does have malaria, and has a very bad form of it. The doctors have Peter on medication and IVs, and have said he may need to remain at the Hospital for three days.
Please pray that the Lord will heal Peter. And please pray that the Lord protects the rest of the Family from malaria.
In light of this news and in light of the other trials of their past 41 days in Cameroon, I am reminded of these words from Philip Bliss, in the Hymn "It Is Well",
"Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blessed assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and has shed His own blood for my soul."
2 Chronicles 20:12b records the prayer of King Jehoshaphat when he was overwhelmed with an enemy force threatening him. He prays to God, "For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You."
Thank you so much for seeking the Lord with us and calling on the great Lord and God for our family in Cameroon!
In His Hand,
Mark
